I Updated My Will at 59—and My Family’s Reaction Caught Me Off Guard

I never set out to disappoint anyone. Years ago, I made a calm, clear choice not to have biological children. It wasn’t dramatic, and it wasn’t something I revisited every few months. It simply felt right for my life—and even now, at 59, I don’t carry regret about it.
