Single Mom Discovers Mystery Helper During Her Parenting Journey

“Leave now!” her foster mother shouted, as Kendall shielded her face and wept uncontrollably. “I won’t allow this behavior in my home with your innocent siblings!”
Kendall looked desperately at her foster father, but he simply turned away, unwilling to challenge his wife. Her foster mother pushed her toward the exit. “I should have known you’d end up like your birth mother!”
Kendall remained on the sidewalk crying until her foster father emerged with a small backpack. “Your sister packed some essentials,” he explained, handing her a few dollars. “I’m sorry, Kendall… You know how she is…”
Through tears, Kendall looked up at him. “You both promised to love me unconditionally—that’s what real parents do!” He walked away looking guilty, and Kendall took her belongings and left.

Adopted as a baby, Kendall had been raised in the Jordan household with four other children. The Jordans were strict religious conservatives who prohibited celebrating birthdays or holidays, considering them inappropriate.
Kendall’s life had been limited to school during weekdays and religious services on Sundays. Like many teenagers, she began rebelling—wanting to experience movies, fashionable clothes, makeup, social gatherings, and romance. When everything was forbidden, she lost her sense of boundaries and became involved with a troubled classmate.

“No divine intervention now,” she muttered bitterly. “No protective guardian watching over me!” Kendall had always imagined having a guardian angel who occasionally brought unexpected gifts into her life.
On her birthdays, she’d receive mysterious presents delivered through school, which she kept hidden in her locker. During holiday seasons, she’d discover treats hanging from the tree outside her window and a festive stocking filled with forbidden goodies.
Kendall had watched for this mysterious benefactor but never caught a glimpse. Now alone and expecting a baby was when she needed this guardian most.
At a nearby park, she sat down and counted the money her foster father had given her—barely $56. Not enough for even one night at a budget accommodation.
