In a recent video circulating online, Noah broke his silence—not directly on the rumour—but on Elon Musk’s fallout with the South African government over the failed launch of Starlink. According to Noah, Musk’s grievances stem from South Africa’s requirement for companies to have local minority ownership in order to operate. He said:

“If you look at Elon’s plight against South Africa—it started when he wasn’t able to launch Starlink because the government says you need minority ownership. Not only did they reject it, but they banned Starlink altogether.”

While the comedian did not address the genocide allegations directly, the timing of his comments stirred a wave of mixed reactions online.

Public Reaction: Divided Opinions

Social media responses to Noah’s video ranged from support to disappointment. Some praised him for finally speaking up, while others criticized the timing and tone of his response.

  • @vusi_mygy commented: “Trevor is correct 👌.”
  • @lucnoz_ added: “Glad he finally spoke. He basically said Elon is spreading propaganda in a clever way.”
  • @JoePesc96673377 countered: “Too little, too late. Is he trying to save face now?”

Ntsiki Mazwai Speaks Out

Cultural commentator and activist Ntsiki Mazwai also weighed in, criticizing Noah’s ongoing silence on the controversial claims. She argued that as an internationally influential figure, Noah has a responsibility to challenge misinformation and stand up for his country. Social media echoed her sentiments, with many stating that Noah is in a unique position to help shape global understanding of South Africa’s realities.
